Helmsley Breaks Media Silence
Tragedy Helmsley has not been heard from in quite some time. Despite experiencing the best individual season of his career, he has done his best to avoid any and all media interaction as he plays out the final year of a three year deal he signed with the Kraken. Helmsley shocked many of the media world on Sunday when for the first time in over a season, he decided to answer the questions asked to him. The first thing asked was regarding his upcoming free agency.
"We haven't had any talks about an extension with the organization. While my recent play has been the best this team has seen at my position, my effort in practice has not really matched that production. The team may end up deciding to go in a different direction for next season and I can't blame them if that's the route they decide to go. My goal is to play out the rest of the season and give my all so I can try to bring in some offers this offseason. If New Orleans calls and want to talk about bringing me back, I will certainly listen. This place has been my home for the past three seasons and I think that it would be hard to imagine playing anywhere else. Unfortunately, I am getting up there in age and don't have many prime years left. This team has not sniffed the playoffs with me on the roster and maybe I should set my sights towards a team with a chance at a title. Would be nice to win one before my career comes to an end. I'm sure you all will follow whatever direction this story goes so just stay tuned and who knows where I could end up playing next season."
