  3. Steven Reinhardt was a no-miss prospect coming out of high-school, and scouts knew it. Nearly every team in the Elite College Football Association made a pitch to try and get the five star recruit. His speed and route running made him a lethal ‘deep threat’ for his team’s offense, frequently just out speeding his competition and leaving them in the dust. There’s been a few question marks on whether or not he can continue that production at an even higher level, but with his gym rat work ethic, it’s very likely he’ll succeed wherever he goes. After a few weeks of constant house visits and phone calls, Reinhardt has finally appeared at a press conference just outside his old high school. Dozens of reporters are in the audience, alongside his friends, family, and the teammates he’d played with. “First, I’d like to thank everyone who came out here. Mom, Dad.. without you two, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today. Especially I’d like to thank Mr. Burns, who realized my potential, and gave his all to coach me into becoming the best player possible. Thank you.” A few more pleasantries are exchanged, Steven eventually getting to the reason everyone was really here. His decision. “It was a tough call. So many teams made good offers.” “Trenton had been scouting me even before I was a five star recruit at high school. They said I was exactly what they needed, a player who makes big plays and can shift the momentum of the entire game. Trenton even promised I’d be the #1 option at wide receiver for them as soon as I got there. Mathew Edwards is a great Quarterback, too. Though the locker room was a bit.. underwhelming. My biggest desire is to have an active locker room to work with.” “The Phalanx were probably the least active Locker Room out of everyone. Nobody had even been there in weeks. I could shine if I go there, but does performing great even matter if nobody is around to get excited for you? I’m not sure how active I’d be over there. They also kind of flat out admitted that choosing them didn't make much sense.” “Manchester visited me earlier on. Initially, I was quite skeptical about joining them. But the AD was very friendly and honest. I enjoyed our conversation, something I think is important when choosing a team is having a good relationship with the AD. While most AD’s were trying to reason why I should join them, Manchester answered my questions about the league, putting me first. It was a different, but deeply impactful approach.” “The AD I had the best conversation with was probably Numbers, of the Athens Carnage. They were primed for a title, especially after Manchester lost so many of their key players. I’d be a bit lower in the rotation here. Initially, they offered me a running back position. Which was a surprise. But that #1 WR spot would be open for me soon, as long as I put the work in.” “The Wraiths came to me fourth, talking about how well I’d be next to their young freshman quarterback. The prospect sounded exciting, I’d be part of a young 1-2 punch! They’d even be able to offer me a max scholarship, so I could get all the funding I needed to be the best player I could be. But.. money’s never been the biggest priority for me. Still, a really good offer. Having a cool logo with my favorite color also helped, but such things as aesthetics were not my main priority.” “Roswell was the latest to the party, and told me I was a wide receiver. I knew that, but then they told me I’d be a primary receiver, next to Foreman. I had no idea who this was, but it seemed cool. Running with another, more experienced WR to teach me the ropes would be really helpful for me. As much as I care about college, I want to be a professional athlete. And to do that, I need people around me who can help me get to that next level. Though once again.. I felt alone in their locker room. The AD introduced me to the team, but nobody was there to meet me.” And so, the time to make a decision arrived. Reporters leaned in, as Steven opened his mouth to say.. "I'm happy to say I'll be joining the Manchester Lookout. The activity of their locker room was exactly what I was looking for. An immediate #2 option at WR was also a factor, but what gave them the biggest advantage was.. the gameday thread. It was so much more active than other teams, and made the EFL fun, even though I was still an outsider who know very little of what was happening. I remembered just sitting, watching messages go by and thinking: I like it here." "The other teams were very kind with their offers, and I appreciated all those pitches. Made me feel like I belonged here, so I'll be sticking around. Met a lot of really cool people around the league through those discussions, and I'm looking forward to talking with them some more. Even if it's as a member of a different team." #Lkout.
