Introducing the San Antonio Hall of Fame

The Wolfpack are a few years in under new management and after gaining some stability again, the team looks to make a bunch of improvements especially around the team's long 17, going on 18 year history. The team has trail-blazed the market on team based career statistics which can be found HERE. It is time to make the next step into recognizing the achievements of our Wolfpack coaches and players over the years as well as some of the great moments of Wolfpack history and enshrine those individuals and those moments forever in the new San Antonio Wolfpack Hall of Fame.

Generally, if possible, how this works is that each season we will induct 2 former Wolfpack players or coaches and recognize them for what they have done for the team. We will detail awards or statistical achievements and how they helped the Wolfpack. The members will be forever enshrined within the Wolfpack Hall of Fame, which is currently pending a new name, that sits on the site of San Antonio's stadium, The Alamodome, for fans to interact with on gameday or on non-gamedays. It will be a great addition for our loyal players and fans alike as we recognize their achievements and contributions to this great organization.

Our first inductee is an interesting one, but one that I feel deserves to be in our hall of fame for the legacy they helped start and their willingness to go above and beyond to help the team. Of course, I am talking about the team's first quarterback ever in Adonis Devlin @Evans as he epitomized a team first mentality and great ability on the field at multiple different positions. Adonis was never a statistical leader, usually being overshadowed by Mike Boss in Seattle during his career but he continued to grow into a leader for the team at the quarterback position. Adonis finished his career with 13,646 passing yards and 82 touchdown passes to 63 interceptions to go along with 682 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground and even added 998 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns as a wide receiver as well. He was asked to do it all and while his numbers were not jump off the page, he played in a different era of the EFL where passing was not as crazy as we have seen in today's game. He got better and better as the years went on, even taking time off the QB position to accommodate QB Zane Battle who quickly flamed out and when that happened, Devlin was back and even more improved at the position. Over his career, he received one award which was the Comeback Player of the Year Award in Season 2 which is awarded to the most improved player in the EFL. Congratulations Adonis on being the first ever member of the Wolfpack Hall of Fame.

Our 2nd inductee this season has some similarities to our first in that they both knew each other well and came from the same agency as Adonis Devlin. Our 2nd inductee is none other than linebacker Tiago Orton @Evans, who played most of his career in San Antonio from Seasons 1 through Season 6. Orton, unlike Devlin, has stats that have stayed towards the top of the San Antonio leader boards over the many years as he is 3rd in overall tackles, 2nd in tackles for loss, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries while also being 5th all-time in sacks for the Wolfpack. He finished his career with 647 tackles, 35 of those for a loss, 33 sacks, 4 interceptions, 7 forced fumbles, and even was one of 5 Wolfpack players ever to block a punt. Orton never won any awards as a member of the Wolfpack but did win a linebacker of the year award towards the back half of his career in Season 8 with Miami. He was one of the more consistent linebackers in his career and was always counted on in San Antonio to make the important tackles or get after the quarterback. Congratulations to Tiago on this achievement as our first ever defensive player to enter the Hall of Fame.

Along with the players, we are also moving the first game ball ever used in a regular season Wolfpack game at home which was Season 1, Week 3 in a win against the Memphis Bandits, who are now the Wisconsin Brigade.
