Marcus Johnson, RB

@Advantage

Marcus Johnson was the very first player ever drafted into the EFL, and he did not disappoint. Johnson was the New York Herd's lead running back for 7 years, winning 5 Running Back of the Year and 3 MVP awards during that span. As if that wasn't impressive enough, when his career was winding down, he converted himself into a Wide Receiver and won a Receiver of the Year award as well. Speaking of versatility, did I mention that he also won 4 Returner of the Year awards too? He led the Herd to two Championships, and his 133 career touchdowns was the most in EFL history at the time of his retirement. He holds every career New York record and is all over the season records as well. Marcus truly was the face of the early Herd franchise.

Herd Stats:

2536 Attempts 9932 Yards 91 TDs 3.9 AVG

393 Catches 3943 Yards 29 TDs

184 PR 1896 Yards 9 TDs 10.3  AVG

Awards:

5 Running Back of the Year

1 Wide Receiver of the Year

Nnamdi Okolocha, QB

@evryday

When Nnamdi Okolocha retired, he was the record holder for every major quarterbacking stat in New York history. A 2 time Quarterback of the Year winner, Okolocha ranked top 5 all time in career passing yards, passing touchdowns, and completions at the time of his retirement. Part of the most dynamic EFL offense at the time, he made a huge impact on the Herd in his short time.

 Herd Stats:

16,704 Yards, 112 TDs, 58 INTs, 1,298/2,125 (61%)

224 Carries, 840 Yards, 4 TDs

68 Catches, 753 Yards, 5 TDs

Awards:

2 Quarterback of the Year

Chandominck Sabathia, LB

@omgitshim

Mr. Herd. If there was a Mt Rushmore for New York Herd players, this man would be first on the list. The face of the Herd defense from day 1, he retired after easily the best career numbers by any man who lined up on the New York D. Owner of most, if not all team career records and with his name peppered all over the season records, Chando could do it all. Even return kicks!! His departure has resulted in New York's absence from the post season, but the team hopes his addition as LB coach will allow him to teach the young Herd LBs to follow in his footsteps.

Herd Stats:

1197 Tackles, 111 Sacks, 16 Forced Fumbles, 10 Interceptions, 104 Pass Knockdowns, 4 Safeties, 1 Touchdown

106 Kick Returns, 2540 Yards, 1 Touchdown

23 Punt Returns, 263 Yards, 1 Touchdown

Herd Awards:

Rookie of the Year

2 Linebacker of the Year

Defensive Player of the Year

Logan Crawford, QB, @Symmetrik

103 GP (S11-S18)
36,945 Yards, 299 TDs, 112 INTs, 66.9% Completions; 144 Carries, 357 Yards, 2 TDs
1 Most Valuable Player
1 Offensive Player of the Year
2 Quarterback of the Year
S11 Rookie of the Year

Logan Crawford may go down as the most touted prospect in EFL history. After winning three consecutive championships holding the clipboard behind Isaac Martin at Alabama, Crawford had a monstrous senior season in which he set a then NCAA record with 4,675 passing yards, just 6 yards off the current ECFA record despite playing two fewer games. Crawford was a no-brainer 1st overall pick for the New York Herd, and not only did he live up to the expectations, he surpassed them. It wasn't even for Crawford to just win Rookie of the Year, he also won Quarterback of the Year as a rookie, leading the entire EFL in touchdowns, passer rating, and completion percentage. Crawford would win the award a second time a few years later, picking up Offensive Player of the Year and MVP awards as well. Despite all his success, the one thing that eluded him was an EFL Championship. At the time of his retirement, Crawford led the EFL in just about every passing stat imaginable, and by quite the margin at that. The first player with over 3,000 completions, 33,000 yards, and 275 touchdowns, Crawford ushered in a new breed of quarterbacks to the EFL.

Dee_Fence_S12-S22.png

Dee Fence, CB, @oilmandan

158 GP (S12-S22 New York Herd)

820 Tackles (4 TFL), 10 Sacks, 55 INT, 154 PD, 3 FF, 2 FR, 8 TD

1 Defensive Player of the Year

3 Cornerback of the Year

Dee Fence was one of the greatest ballhawks to set foot on an EFL field. Fence is second all time with 55 career interceptions, and his 8 defensive touchdowns was second most in EFL history at the time of his retirement. A fan favorite, Fence spent his entire 11 season career with the New York Herd, cementing himself as one of the team's all time greats. During those 11 seasons, the Herd ranked in the top half of the league in points allowed 9 times, coming in 2nd place 4 of those times. In his prime, Fence had a three year peak that few could match. He won Cornerback of the Year three seasons in a row, an award no other player has ever won in consecutive seasons, all while leading the league in Interceptions each time. He also earned Defensive Player of the Year honors the third time around, cementing himself as an elite player. Fence continued to play great as he aged, setting a career high with 9 interceptions in his 10th season. Even the most talented of quarterbacks thought twice before throwing in his direction.
