Burt BOT283 has turned from running receiver to an actual running back this season. This change has given him even more strength as he had before as shown by his 99 yard touchdown run the past week. Burt BOT283 is now leading the league in rushing yards. Despite the physical limitation of only having 100 TPE, he still leads the league. Next to his 654 yards, he already was good for five touchdowns. Burt is sad that he was not picked in OrbitingDeath's own fantasy team and this is how he wants to make his manager pay for crime against BOTanity. (And no this has nothing to do with actual botany).

Unfortunately the play of Burt does not help Hades Creek to win games as they are struggling under new management. While it will be a work in progress to get the team in shape again, the new Athletic Director will work hard to put Hades Creek back on the spot they belong, they should fight with Briscane Bay and Death Valley for a playoff spot, but let’s hope that will be something for next season, as this season seems to be a transitioning year.

Burt BOT283 will be a part of this as long as he is allowed to and hopes Hades Creek will once again regain his former glory.

Mum-O Killowe gets cup

When Killowe still was with the Michigan Wolverines, him and Richfield hardly showed up for practice. In fact they had no idea how to communicate with the people on earth, so they had no idea what they had to do. So after a couple of years there, they went into the draft automatically. Killowe got picked up in the 4th round and ate Richfield by accident. He was so surprised to hear his name being called. From that moment on, he was no longer a Wolverine, but he upgraded to the Wolfpack. The manager of the Wolfpack did the best he could to make Killowe feel at home and to get him instructed on how to train and become better for the team.

While it is hard to coach a creature that does not speak any earth language, in the end it paid off. After a few lost finals Killowe and the Wolfpack finally managed to win that elusive trophy, around sixteen seasons since their last win so i’ve been told.

From fourth round draft pick to a cup winner, it’s been a long ride for Killowe, but it is not over for him yet. With him having signed a deal for two more seasons he will become the tackle leader for the Wolfpack next season! He couldn’t have been more proud.

Bumberpuff gets some hardware.

It was about time, atleast in his eyes. Cormorant Bumberpuff finally has gotten his Tight End of the Year award. While the voting wasn't close and he got all but one first place vote. The difference between him and Ay Pee E was alot closer. Their amount of targets was only one target difference. It was Ay Pee E who gotten more, but in return Ay Pee E also got about 140 more yards. The amount of touchdowns however was the same, six of them each. The difference had to be made on the blocking stats, and that is where Bumberpuff slightly outedged his opponents. Both Ay Pee E and Himalya Griffintown allowed one sack this season, while Bumberpuff had a flawless season here. So even though the pancakes also were really close (5 more for Bumberpuff), this voting could easily have gone the other way, if the sacks allowed wouldn't been seen as so important compared to the extra yards.

Bumberpuff couldn't be more happy with the result now and hopes to repeat again this year. It's going to be interesting to see if the TE's will be involved more this year, as their six touchdowns seem to be a bit on the low side of scoring.

Together with the Minnesota Frontier he will try to accomplish this, as he renewed his contract with three more years, it looks like Bumberpuff is happy in Minnesota and hopes the team will once again return to the finals this year. We will see what happens.

Decision time!

First off all, the OrbitingDeath Player Agency wants to thank all interested AD’s (  @124715 @StackTheRacks12 @TacticalHammer @TheCheese @MMFLEX @Adrest245  ) in trying to acquire my new defensive recreate. As stated before, my players will want the following things:

  • He will be creating as a redshirt next season to get as much out of the ecfa as possible
  • He will want two times a 5 million scholarship, one for equipment, one for my uncap year
  • He wants consistency and  remain a team that knows how to be competitive, stay competitive and does not have a change of leadership on the horizon.

The final three:

Spoiler

Biscayne Bay Pirates, Stacks you were the first to jump on my message and even though your pitch came later, I certainly enjoyed our talks. On the demands, you are the only one securing the 5 million without hesitation. I love what you have build with the Pirates during a 10 season tenure. So you could definitely be a location I will end up enjoying my four seasons.

Spoiler

Death Valley Rangers, Tac, you were maybe a bit slower than the others, but you know how to sell your franchise and I love your history section. You were willing to make a promise on the 5 million thing, (despite you not being too thrilled about it) if it would be a deal breaker. But your franchise seems to have everything i’m looking for.

Spoiler

Manchester Lookout,  MMFlex, I love what you did with the franchise in a short time and your team looks destined to win next season. Joining your conference seems to be the best way to multiple conference finals as you dont have to deal with the Pirates/Rangers until the finals. You didn’t want to make a promise you couldn’t keep on the 5 million and i respect your view on that. But the Lookout truly look like a fantastic situation to land in.

Spoiler

The decision:

The decision was hard, as I hate to let people down (Now I remember why I usually pre commit by contacting a person before hand). But in the end, I love the last few characters I created, they are all part of the Galactic Football League series by Scott Sigler (really, you should check these out, DM me if you want to get started on these books) and there only was one AD that actually mentioned the story telling I did with my characters and how he would love to see what I would do with my characters in a place like Death Valley.  Since he agreed to the two times 5 million aswell, my new player will be lining up for the Death Valley Rangers starting next season as a redshirt. If it’s Virak the Mean or Yalla the Biter, that still has to be decided.

Yalla the Biter underway to Death Valley

Condor Adrienne is the Quarterback for the Orbital Station 1 Orbiting Death and was the first OS1 player being sent to earth for extra training. The quarterback played defense, but not on the field, but on ice. In eight seasons with the Malmo Nighthawks, he received a legendary status on the league. Owner of the Orbiting Death, Anna Villani was also delighted with this result. With her quarterback being even stronger and more aware on the field, they look to finally beat the Ionath Krakens and win their first Galaxy Bowl.

In order to train more of her players, she decided to sent her most deadly sentient to earth, this time not to learn a different sport or position, but just to give him more training and endurance as he will now have twice the amount of games he has to play for, as he also has to line up in the GFL. But Yalla's thirst for blood is hard to satisfy, he wants to hurt his opponents, kill them when he has the chance.

Even though that is frowned upon on earth, it's still what Yalla does best. But just a few sheds of blood will do, people will remember having played against him. He will use his time on earth to gain some more weight to carry out his hard hitting ways. So Yalla is now en-route to Death Valley, where he will be joining as a redshirt this weekend. He hopes to be able to help the team to destruct the opponents and hopefully kill a quarterback or two as lunch.

Cormorant Bumberpuff doesn’t complete the hattrick.

After two tight end of the year awards in a row, Cormorant Bumberpuff didn’t only not win the award for a third time in a row, but he barely placed third, with just one third place vote more as Jordan Kavanagh. With 1057 yards he placed above second place winner Raymond Bernard, but he was far more efficient on the amount of touchdowns, with 11 to 5.

While Lewin placed 180 yards above Bumberpuff with 1 more touchdown. It was a whole lot of nothing this year for Bumberpuff. As also on the blocking part of his job, he couldn’t break ahead of the pack, as both him and Bernard had 32 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed, while Lewin followed with 30 / 0

It will be interesting to see what will follow in Bumberpuff his career as it looks like he will need to work with rookie quarterback Rayz Funk Jr. now, and truth be told. He isn’t really sure if that will work out for him so late in his career.  He told the Frontier that if needed, he would understand if he would be traded, but general manager did not let anything loose if this is indeed what will happen.

Yalla the Biter is not just a violent player, but the Death Valley Rangers rookie, was highly efficient this season on defense. In his rookie season he managed to get 114 tackles, 8th amongst linebackers, he had 11 tackles for loss, the highest for any linebacker (or any non bot player), 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovered, 8th sacks (which was second amongst linebackers), 1 interception, 7 passes deflected (which is also the highest amongst linebackers) , 1 safety (shared highest together with his teammate Kelly-Odom amongst non bot players) , he just didn't get a touchdown.

This performance shows the league was not ready for his playstyle and he only hopes to get better. Unfortunately  it is almost impossible to improve on such a rookie season, which might aswell end up being a linebacker of the year award for the ECFA.

Yalla the Biter was a welcome addition to the Rangers and he really brings the Death in Death Valley. This did not result in a championship, as the Manhattan Lookout were just too strong at this point. Yalla the Biter was good for another 8 tackles and 1 tackle for loss in the game. But the defense still gave up 26 points, which was to much, as we only were able to score 14 back on the Lookout. But the Rangers will be back and come for revenge. Every year will be a new battle and Yalla is ready to fight ' em all, making sure each team will be hurt after playing Death Valley.

The team will only come back stronger next year.

Bumberpuff is one happy Prawatt, his long term rival Himalaya Griffintown seemed to have announced his retirement. Bumberpuff can now continue to chase the receptions record without having to worry about Griffintown getting receptions. It will still be a long road ahead of him, as at the end of last season the difference was. 1424 receptions for Griffintown and 1359 for Bumberpuff, so a difference of 65. But with the schedules being less than 16 games again, it will be harder to catch up. Five games into the season we have 25 receptions for Bumberpuff and 18 for Griffintown, so there is still a difference of 58 receptions to go for Bumberpuff to take the record as his own. Both Tight End’s have gone head to head in their careers and usually saw other TE’s picking up the hardware, but this rivalry is one that can go into the record books.

Standings:

1. Himalaya Griffintown @McWolf (S19-) * 1,424 Receptions
2. Cormorant Bumberpuff :MIN::MEM::SF: @OrbitingDeath (S22-) - 1,359 REC *

Will Bumberpuff get the record, probably. Will it be this season? Definitly not.

The conversations for staying or going went all over the place, but that might be logical considering the management of the Wisconsin Brigade didn't really have much experience in contract negotiations with an alien species like Yalla The Biter. With the Brigade losing most of their senior members, Yalla felt leaving would be his best option, but when mr. @Cornholio prepared a meal that contained the remains of his old teammates (rest in peace all) he could not resist the offer on staying longer. Yalla finally was allowed to eat some football players and he almost hugged his gm to death. The families of his old players might not like it, but with this action the Brigade managed to keep their young star linebacker on the roster to build their defense around. Filled up on fresh human meat, Yalla is once again ready for the seasons to come and he will come at players faster as ever, as he finally can afford the tier 3 equipment to upgrade his speed.

After re-signing Yalla, new friends (and maybe future meals) have been brought in by the brigade. Players like Dogwood Maple and J.D. Boom are now on the field next to Yalla, trying to get the Brigade back into the playoffs!
